Position Salary Range: $6,121 - $9,182 per month.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Department/Position
This position will support the broad efforts of the University to increase and develop philanthropic opportunities. Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Development, the Director of Annual and Leadership Giving will direct and execute the annual giving program; administer, direct, and monitor the work performed by the University's Digital Engagement Center; and oversee and direct utilization of outside vendor relationships. The Director will contribute to the development of a major gift pipeline by increasing engagement and probability that CSUDH becomes a philanthropic priority for alumni, parents, and friends, and by creating and directing a leadership giving program. Additionally, and in consultation with the Executive Director of Development, the Director will launch and oversee initiatives focused on giving through various affinities, using a variety of creative and donor-centric solicitation methods, such as direct mail, online giving, texting, peer-to-peer fundraising, social media, and others. The Director will also engage with stakeholders within the division, campus wide, and externally through peer networks.
This is a full-time management (MPP) position. MPP employees serve at the pleasure of the campus President. MPPs do not serve a probationary period and never receive permanent status.
Some evening and weekends may be required. A hybrid schedule is available based on department needs.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads the CSUDH Annual Giving Program to expand the donor base
- Leads the University's Digital Engagement Center
- Develops a pipeline for major and planned gift prospects
- Stays abreast of trends in annual giving and entrepreneurial fundraising
- Develops external relationships for programmatic growth and identifies internal and external partnerships for annual campaigns
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or a four-year university
- Experience: 3-4 years of professional experience working in annual giving
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-7 years of demonstrated success in annual fundraising activities
- Supervisor in an annual fund office preferably in a higher education setting
- Experience with databases, preferably Raiser's Edge, and phonathon software systems, preferably RNL CampusCall
- Experience working in higher education environment with at least 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience (student assistant management is ok)
- Experience working with diverse audiences and groups
- Previous supervision, leadership and management experience in a phonathon environment of up to 8-10 callers per shift
