Position Description

The Department of  Management and Marketing at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Academic Year) with the appointment starting in Fall 2021.

Department of Management and Marketing

The Department of Management and Marketing at CSU Dominguez Hills has fourteen tenured/tenure-track management faculty, one full-time lecturer, and several part-time lecturers teaching management and human resource management classes to undergraduate and graduate students. The department also has a mix of tenured/tenure-track faculty and lecturers teaching marketing and sports, entertainment and hospitality courses. This mix affords many exciting cross discipline opportunities for collaboration.

The Position

California State University, Dominguez Hills, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Management (Strategy focus) at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the Department of Management & Marketing, College of Business Administration and Public Policy. The appointment is with a begin date of Fall semester 2021. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of funds. Responsibilities

Teaching duties may consist of day or evening classes and will involve teaching the Strategic Management capstone course in the College of Business Administration and Public policy. Teaching responsibilities will

include both undergraduate and graduate courses, and likely include online and hybrid courses. Additional responsibilities include research and service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy. Published research in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and promotion.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
  • Applicants are required to have a completed Ph.D. degree in Management or Business Administration with research emphasizing a Strategy/Strategic Management focus from an accredited AACSB institution at the time of application.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a record of high-impact research and excellent teaching in Strategic Management.

Employment Requirement – Background Check

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.  CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.  Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

 A United States (US) Equivalency certification is required for earned/awarded/conferred foreign terminal degrees, which is from a foreign Academic Institution for foreign studies. The US Equivalency certification is used to validate foreign studies from an academic credential evaluation agency and is evaluated on foreign studies and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from the United States. The certification must translate the information in English, and confirm that your highest terminal degree is US Equivalent to a US terminal degree (i.e., Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate’s, Doctor’s of Philosophy).
