About the Department/Position:
Under the direction of the Associate Dean for the College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) and in collaboration with the Director of Special Sessions, the incumbent will actively oversee the day-to-day administration of a group (16+) of complex and diversified academic credit degree programs and certificates for professional upskilling or reskilling, mid-career training, or life-long learning. These activities include maintaining a year-round academic calendar for assigned programs, securing course offerings, ensuring courses are scheduled on time, verifying course and faculty information, communicating with College Deans/Chairs/Faculty on course logistics, providing reports to the Associate Dean or Director of Special Sessions as needed, working with Marketing on the promotion and publicity of Special Sessions programs, working with College partners on planning and launching new programs, assisting with organizing orientation sessions/workshops, and performing other duties as assigned.
Night and weekend may be required on a rare basis.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day administration activities associated with Special Sessions academic credit degree programs and certificates (16+)
- Assist with securing course offerings from College partners
- Collaborate with College partners on planning and launching new programs
- Analyze costs of academic credit degree programs and certificates and report concerns to Associate Dean and Sr. Budget Director
- Collaborate with CCPE Marketing Unit on the promotion and publicity of Special Sessions academic credit degree programs and certificates
Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: equivalent to three years of experience planning classes and curriculum for higher or extended education programs and including developing resources, budgets, marketing plans and liaison with the community.

Education: equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with courses in adult education and curriculum planning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the procedures and practices in educational program and curriculum planning in education and the processes required to plan and construct academic programs and course outlines
- Ability to determine needs for new or revised programs
- Ability to plan hours and develop course outlines with faculty/instructors
- Ability to locate faculty/instructors and to assist them in understanding and completing contract (LOA) arrangements
- Ability to develop budgets and analyze costs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
