    • Position Summary
    • The Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing (MarCom) is seeking a creative and motivated student assistant to support social media and marketing efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in content creation, digital engagement and campaign execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a passion for storytelling and understands social media trends. This opportunity is an excellent opportunity to experience a variety of areas of marketing, content writing and social media while working in a professional higher education setting.  

    • Days/Hours
    • 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after May 27, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in planning, creating and scheduling content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
      • Capture and edit photos/videos for digital marketing campaigns and social posts.
      • Support event marketing efforts, including on-site social media coverage and live updates.
      • Write compelling captions and copy tailored to each platform.
      • Engage with online communities by responding to comments, messages and mentions.
      • Help monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize engagement.
      • Perform administrative tasks related to social media and marketing projects.
      • Collaborate with the MarCom marketing and social media team to brainstorm ideas and identify student stories, accomplishments and other opportunities to share and elevate student voices.
      • Represent the MarCom team at campus-wide student resource events.
      • Serve as a brand ambassador.
      • Other duties as assigned.
    • Qualifications













    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Photography or video editing skills are a bonus.
      • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office software.
      • Strong writing and communication skills.
      • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
      • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with campus community contacts, including current and potential donors.
      • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
      • Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
      • Familiarity with social media content editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar).
    • Salary Range


    • $16.50 per hour.
