Position Salary Range: $12,392 - $18,588 per month
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $13,100 - $15,500 per month.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Position:
Under the administrative direction of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Academic Affairs Chief of Staff is responsible for creating an environment to sustain academic excellence through a collaborative process with various university and community constituencies. The Chief of Staff works with faculty, deans, and academic administrators to develop and implement the Academic Affairs Master Plan and advises the provost on a variety of matters, including allocation of division resources. The Chief of Staff is a member of the Academic Affairs Council and serves as the division representative in a broad range of contexts.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that Academic Affairs makes meaningful progress on its priorities and strategies.
- Turns the explicit and tacit goals of the division into specific deliverables, with timetables, delegated accountability, and measurable outcomes.
- Ensures that work on the regular business of the division and ad hoc projects continues between meetings.
- Works in tight coordination with the Provost and communication staff to ensure that administrative priorities are expressed consistently and acted on with transparency, equity, and accountability.
- Supervises the division Budget Officer/HR Liaison and, together with the Provost, forms a three-person team that shapes the budget and personnel allocations for Academic Affairs.
- Monitors the division’s policies, business practices, and various IT tools, making updates as needed for improved quality and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Must have an earned terminal degree and the appropriate academic credentials to qualify for appointment as a tenured Professor in one of the Colleges within the Division of Academic Affairs.

Experience: Eight years of demonstrated related management experience including experience with administrative, governance, budget, and/or personnel policies and processes.

A minimum of four years of managerial experience.
