The salary range for this classification is: minimum $5,351 - maximum $7,633 monthly.

Major Duties

Under the direction of the Associate Dean of International Education and in collaboration with the Senior International Officer, the Study Abroad Programming and Marketing Coordinator will coordinate and oversee the Website editorial content, quality assurance procedures and outreach branding of all Study Abroad and Office of International Education activities. The Coordinator has general authority to make independent decisions and make recommendation for policy changes as necessary.

The incumbent will plan marketing and communication strategies as part of CSUDH’s mission and Strategic Plan; provide technological assistance and expertise to assist faculty and students with the delivery of virtual courses and customized programs; develop creative solutions to attract students of diverse backgrounds and academic interests to study abroad; analyze international marketing trends and determine course of actions; lead grant writing initiatives to maximize funding opportunities for CSUDH students to study abroad and faculty to travel for research and lead classes.

In collaboration with the Associate Dean of International Education, other related responsibilities include leading online initiatives to increase CSUDH's international footprint by planning highly innovative programs to attract local communities, regional and international audiences.

Qualifications

Experience: Equivalent to three years of experience in planning classes and curriculum for higher or extended education programs and including developing resources, budgets, marketing plans and liaison with the community.

Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with courses in adult education and curriculum planning.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

- International experience.
- Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and activities of a Study Abroad office and International Education.
- General knowledge of online methods and challenges associated with the execution and coordination of virtual programs.
- Working knowledge in how to use technology to assist in the development of virtual international programs.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Strong knowledge of the Web, technology and social media platforms.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- General knowledge in exchange programs and new trends in international education marketing.
- Strong ability to identify funding opportunities, including ability to write grants and to access supporting resources to maximize opportunities for increased students' engagement in study abroad and faculty involvement in teaching and researching abroad.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of social media ecosystems, tools and messaging; experience with digital analytics - Google Analytics, Facebook Ad; email marketing software and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Knowledge of graphic design computer applications, various software programs for spreadsheets, reports, presentations, brochures and circulars newsletters.
- Skills in social media content development and social media marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

40% - Communication & Marketing

- Develop a comprehensive marketing plan for international enrollment management growth.

- Enhance CSUDH social media presence to attract online traffic to CSUDH international programs and activities, including Study Abroad and ALCP.

- Create and handle content of CSUDH International Alumni Website and lead coordination efforts with all CSUDH graduates in the world.

- Coordinate and assist with the planning and execution of promotional activities including print, electronic media, tradeshow, and direct mail.

- Coordinate and oversee editorial content and ensure compliance with regulations and high-quality deliverance.

40% -  Student Success

- Provide technological assistance and high

- level expertise for the development and execution of specialized virtual instructional programs, i.e., CSUDH International Virtual Exchange Learning programs and collaborative online initiatives

- Submit at least one grant per year for funds to support student success and faculty engagement in research and teaching either virtually or abroad.

- Provide technological assistance and expertise in the development and execution of virtual internships

- In collaboration with faculty, the Study Abroad Advisor and Fullbright Program Advisor, assist with the development and execution of programs designed to help prepare students for highly competitive scholarships and other awards.  

15% -  Community Outreach and Reporting

- Assist in developing community partnerships to foster community relationships between local and international communities through organizing online activities programs.

- Deliver monthly reports with analysis of trends, recommendations and projections for goal attainments, including a 5% annual increase of the total number of international students at CSUDH and of 10% annual increase of the total number of inbound and outbound study abroad students.

5% - Perform other duties as assigned/required by MPP.
