Position Salary Range: $10,324 - $15,486 per month
The anticipated salary for this position is $10,324 - $12,500 per month.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Department/Position:
We provide a safe and inclusive on-campus living experience designed to promote independent living, maximize students’ educational experience, and facilitate personal growth.
Under the administrative direction of Vice President for Student Affairs, the Executive Director for University Housing serves as the University's Senior Housing Officer and provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for a comprehensive student housing enterprise supporting more than 1,450 residential beds. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management, financial sustainability, strategic planning, policy development, and organizational effectiveness of university housing operations.
The Executive Director provides leadership through subordinate directors responsible for residential education, student engagement, housing operations, facilities, assignments, and business services. The position establishes long-range strategic priorities, directs financial and capital planning, oversees enterprise-wide performance outcomes, and ensures alignment with university goals related to student success, enrollment growth, retention, and campus residential development.
As a member of the Student Affairs leadership team, the Executive Director serves as the University's senior housing authority, advising campus leadership on housing strategy, financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, and future residential growth opportunities.
This position has on-call responsibilities to oversee safety and emergency needs of the housing community as needed.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the University's Senior Housing Officer and provide vision, leadership, and long-range strategic planning for University Housing and Residential Life.
- Establish and align departmental priorities with the institution's mission, enrollment goals, student success outcomes, and strategic initiatives supporting the University's transition to a residentially focused campus.
- Serve as the primary housing representative in institutional planning, decision-making, and leadership discussions impacting student housing and residential life.
- Direct the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans, housing initiatives, and organizational priorities that support the growth and sustainability of the housing enterprise.
- Provide executive oversight of housing and auxiliary budgets, including revenue and expense management, resource allocation, and financial sustainability strategies.
- Lead long-term financial planning, including housing rate development, multi-year financial forecasting, pro forma development, and reserve planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in higher education administration, student affairs, business administration, public administration, educational leadership, finance, or a closely related field.
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in university housing, residence life, student affairs, auxiliary services, or a closely related field, including leadership responsibility for complex programs, operations, or organizations. A minimum of four (4) years of managerial experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends related to university housing, residential education, student development, and auxiliary operations.
- Knowledge of budget administration, financial planning, resource management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, CSU, and university policies, regulations, and standards affecting housing operations and residential communities.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership and organizational direction for a complex housing enterprise.
- Ability to develop and implement long-range plans, establish organizational priorities, and evaluate operational outcomes.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through subordinate managers and professional staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, business administration, public administration, educational leadership, or a closely related field.
- Experience serving in a senior housing leadership role with responsibility for multiple functional areas.
- Experience overseeing residential education, housing operations, facilities, business services, occupancy management, or related housing functions.
- Experience with housing finance, long-range financial planning, capital planning, facilities management, or housing master planning.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational growth, strategic initiatives, or change management efforts within a complex organization.
